Bodybuilder Konstantin Valentinivch Interviewed By FullyFlexed.com

Whats your background? How did you get started into bodybuilding and how long have you been into it?
I am of Russian decent. Born in Odessa Ukraine. One of the ways I got into bodybuilding was a friend of mine who one day asked me to go to the gym. I think I had 13inch arms and saw how skinny I was decided it was time to get bigger. After that point I never looked back. On top of that the movie Pumping Iron really inspired me to become serious in this sport.
What is it about bodybuilding in general that you love so much?
I love the rush of the pump. Lifting heavy weight and getting weird looks from people when walking by – that always puts a smile on my face.
Can you tell us a bit lifting and cardio routine? Anything specific you like to do or use?
I mainly train heavy 5 to 6 days week along with LISS cardio on empty stomach early morning 4 to 6 times a week depending on how much fat loss is desired, and If I am in contest prep or off season.
In reality bodybuilding is all about the right amount of food, correct amount of training and cardio but no one wants to hear that they all want that magic fix.
What are your favorite and least favorite exercises?
My favorite is the squat, dead lift and bench press my least favorite is the overhead press.
Whats your diet like? What do you change up in order to gain or lose weight?
My diet is simple – lots of protein and a good amount of carbs/fats. During fat loss phase diet is adjusted each week based on how well I lose fat. Removing calories carefully and monitoring fat loss each week. Truthfully to get into single digit bodyfat you have to be completely on point with your diet and cardio/training. Also not eating junk food high in sodium saturated fat and simples sugars. Hard to do, but has to be done during fat loss phase. You have to be mentally strong otherwise your life will suck.
Any plans for the future in bodybuilding?
I plan to compete during late 2010 and early 2011 and build a bigger me. Reaching 270lb and building 21 inch guns. Bring up my legs. Those are some of my goals for 2011.
What keeps you so motivated to stick with bodybuilding?
It’s a life style that rarely gets old don’t get me wrong it does get boring sometimes but you always have to strive to be better. My heroes are 70′s era bodybuilders mainly Frank Zane, Robby Robinson and the one and only Arnold.
Any advice for beginners?
Hard question to answer but I will try. Work hard, sleep right and eat right and you should be on your way. Get lots of protein, BCAA’s and water. Get your basics down and take it from there.
Anything else you’d like to share with us?
Good luck on your goals and remember weight is light nothing but a peanut.
