Bodybuilder Christopher Mitchell Interviewed By FullyFlexed.com

chrishighWhat’s your background? What got you started into bodybuilding?
I was born in Houston, Texas, but moved to Ohio at the age of 4. I got into Bodybuilding simply to get bigger, stronger, and faster for High School Baseball. My physique progressed very quickly (I gained 40 pounds of solid muscle my first year) and I soon becam a Bodybuilder.

What are some your accomplishments in the sport of bodybuilding?
Some of my accomplishments are being able to deadlift 550 pounds at a bodyweight of 185 without straps or a belt, winning a Best Poser Medal in my first ever bodybuilding competition, and being featured in over 50 different bodybuilding magazines, with at least 5 covers.

Whats the #1 thing you like best about being into bodybuilding?
What I like most about bodybuilding is being in control of sculpting a piece of art (my body). I love setting goals, and visualizing the body I want to create.

What’s your routine like?
My current workout regimen looks like this:

Monday: Triceps, Biceps, Forearms, and 30 min of running on the treadmill.
Tuesday: Chest, Shoulders, and 30 min of running on the treadmill.
Wednesday: Calves, Hams, Quads, 30 min of running on the treadmill, and plyometrics.
Thursday: Back, Traps, and 30 min of running on the treadmill.
Friday: Triceps, Biceps, Forearms, and 30 min of running on the treadmill.

What are your favorite and least favorite exercises?
My favorite exercises are anything for the arms. I love training arms.

My least favorite exercises are squats and deadlifts. Maybe because I hate those exercises so much is the same reason why I excel at them. Sick. LOL.

Can you tell us a bit about your bulking diet and cutting diet? What are some of the things you like to change up to gain weight and lose weight?
My bulking foods are red meat, cottage cheese, rice, potatoes, oatmeal, and whole eggs. To get shredded I use fat burners, do more cardio, and restrict my carbs and overall calories.

Whats your supplementation like? Anything you prefer to use?
I’ll be completely honest with; I don’t use any supplements nowadays. I only eat good quality organic foods.

However, during my hardcore modeling and bodybuilding days I strictly used Beverly International supplements.

Have you ever used prohormones or steroids?
chrishigh2WOW! That’s a BOLD question, and if I give you an honest answer that’s even more BOLD…… BIG sigh….. I was a drug free bodybuilder for my first 14 years in bodybuilding. I was so against steroids it was sick. I actually created a company called Say No To Steroids about 4 years ago and my business partner and I created a clothing line, website and everything. It was taking off. After being in a bad car crash, becoming a successful businessman, and getting a few years older, I started taking a few steroids just a month ago. I’m not trying to become an IFBB Pro, just maintain the physique I had in my younger, hardcore, drug free days.

Can you please describe what your daily routine is like?
I own my own business (www.itstimetogetrich.com) which allows me to wake up whenever I’m finished sleeping. I usualy wake up around 6-8 in the morning and immediately go to the gym on an empty stomach. I workout for 2 hours and then come home and eat. Then for the rest of the day (if I’m not traveling) I make phone calls from my home, check my emails, and meet people for business presentations.

What keeps you so motivated to stick with bodybuilding?
I’ll be honest with you again (I’m always honest), I just started taking a few steroids and these have got me motivated again. For the last few years I went from my former 195 drug free pounds to 165 pounds. So, I started taking the few steroids I’m currently taking to get back up to 200 pounds and maintain that. I know I’ll be able to get my former body back much easier than it took me 10 years to build being drug free.

Any advice or tips for beginners?
My tips for beginners depends on how old they are? If someone starts working out before the age of 25 I would definitely say stay away from steroids. Though it will be much harder and slower to gain muscle without steroids, I feel a beginner needs to learn the proper mechanics of working out, and letting their body build some muscle naturally first. If after several years a person wants to start experimenting with different steroids then obviously I wouldn’t object to that. Just do plenty of research first and have a professional (like I do) teach you how to use them properly and safely.
